Notes
The shirt plate for this print, is etched through soft ground and then relief printed with a roller. The wringer image is screen printed. The rollers are relief printed.

The shirt in this print has a reality which a photograph does not normally have. With visible seams and threads and a button hole on the cuff, it is the accurate size of a real shirt. The realness of this image exposes the unseen reality of the labour involved in wringing water from a wet shirt.

This print appears on the cover of the book by Dr. Joy Parr, titled “Domestic Goods, the Material, the Moral, and the Economic in Postwar Years”.
