Notes
The apron impression was made in green ink on an arborite surface. The hand images were created by using folded cut out and inked paper stencils. The small gradations of colour on the ties are added from inked card which was printed through stencils.

The dark background was relief printed later from inked card around a block out stencil over the image. Hand colouring was added to the apron frill to produce a more three dimensional appearance.

The arrangement of the apron was chosen to represent the helplessness of the apron housewife who cannot alter her circumstances.
