monoprint with 2 variations

Notes
The plate mark on this print indicates that it was printed from a standard size zinc plate. although the image was not etched. The whole apron was too large for this plate so a half apron was tried instead. This was an attempt to assess the effectiveness of the message of this image before producing an edition and making more editions using halves of various aprons. Whole aprons printed from a larger surface are more recognizable as aprons. A large variety of donated aprons could be printed from a larger surface. For these reasons a decision was made to produce monoprints instead of editions.

One other variation of this half apron exists without hands. The hands in this monoprint were heat transferred to the print from photo transfer paper. These monoprints exist on white backgrounds only.
