Notes
The photo image of the egg carton containing a mother’s face was heat transferred to the white rag paper. The gestation space below the carton is filled with an abundance of red blood vessels which were printed from tightly wrinkled wax paper.

This image emerged from thoughts about the mother hen identity of women, the gestation process, and the birthing of offspring. It is a combination of metaphor and physiology. Offspring emerge from their prenatal confinement into unrestricted space while mothers remain in the egg carton.
