The scissors in this print were off-set from actual inked scissors. This was done to provide visual contrast with the detailed image of the string. The string was etched through a soft ground acid resist on a zinc plate. The plate was relief printed with an inked roller.
Cutting String is a small but essential part of many components of unpaid domestic labour. Such small tasks require time and organization of materials and tools as well as the time to use them.
