Notes
The apron was printed from its own impression on an arborite surface coated with green ink.
The hands were printed from folded, inked, cutout paper shapes. The dark background was added later from inked card around a blocking stencil. The colour gradations were printed from card through a stencil opening.

The apron knot and the tied hands present a literal interpretation of the expression to be “all tied up”. This expression means that one is too busy to have time for doing something else. It applies to women who are too busy meeting the needs of their families, to find time for their other interests.
